Since 1978, the Motability Scheme has been providing a valuable service to over 600,000 people with disabilities. It gives them the chance to claim a new car every three years without the need to own it long-term. If they qualify, users can use part or all of their mobility allowance to finance a vehicle, and the Scheme covers all associated costs such as insurance, servicing and maintenance, RAC breakdown assistance, road tax renewal and free tyre and windscreen replacement, as well as a mileage allowance of up to 60,000 miles over the three-year period.
